Contemporary Glass Mosaics in Haiti

Join internationally-known mosaic artist Laurel True for an afternoon of creative exploration with mosaics.

In this beginner-friendly class, students will make a glass mosaic wall hanging using a variety of materials to create a unique, contemporary work of mosaic art for interior display. Workshop will focus on design, materials, use of mosaic tools for glass, and different techniques for creating interesting textures, color combinations and effects.

Students will have a smorgasbord  of interesting glass to work with for their projects including vitreous glass, iridescent and metallic glass, mirror and colored stained glass.  Design inspirations will be offered as well as one-on-one guidance. Bases will be provided that will be rigged for hanging and ready for display upon completion of mosaic.

Students will have the opportunity to purchase tools provided for use during class at the end of the workshop and a variety of packaged mosaic glass will be for sale after class
