Join instructor Laurel True fellow mosaic enthusiasts of all levels for an afternoon of New Orleans-inspired art making. Beginners welcome!
Learn about the history of the symbol that we associate with everything New Orleans, which dates back to pre-12th century France.
Instructor will present basic glass cutting techniques as they relate to mosaic image making, as well as techniques for approaching design, color and materials selection and setting mosaic pieces to achieve various effects.
Students can choose to work with a pre-cut fleur de lis form, or create a plaque with a fleur de lis pattern. A huge variety of materials will be available for use. The materials area of True Mosaics Studio is a veritable candy store of materials including glass, mirror and tile of every color imaginable.
BYO French wine from Fauberg Wines, we will have French cheese, snacks and bread.
